2. a room
3. How crazy ~YUI Acoustic Version~
4. Rain ~Instrumental~
So I had pretty much given up on YUI. Maybe it’s the fact that almost everything she releases sounds the same, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given that she plays the guitar all the time. To be honest with all of you, all of the YUI stuff is more of a filler till some other good stuff gets released; that and I really needed to review it to see if she had redeemed herself.
I wasn’t expecting Rain to be what it was. It was an up-tempo, killer rock song. I expected the rock part, but not it being so fast and energetic. There were also some piano chords, which really stood out since it’s a rock song. Also included were the guitar, naturally, and some heavy percussion. I also have to give it to YUI for making such a catchy song, sorta like LIFE or Rolling star. Nice vocals too, no real complaint for this song.
a room is the complete opposite of the previous track. It’s a lot more laid-back and more relaxing than energetic. The acoustic arrangement and the organ really set it apart. And while it does feature some electric guitar riffs, I feel as though this song is more emotional than the last. Her vocals sound a lot more emotional, that and they sound a bit nicer as well. Very calming and very lovely.
I haven’t heard the original of How crazy, but it’s another YUI Acoustic Version. It’s not my cup of tea, but that’s just my opinion. The acoustics version are either hits, or misses, and this one was more of a miss IMO. The melody was great though, I have a feeling the original is a lot better.
Nice single, a lot more memorable than her previous single and previous album. If you’re a fan of YUI, you’ll definitely love this single. That being said, it still sounds pretty similar to everything else. Then again she only does rock, not like pop or R&B where you can dab in just about anything. Not a bad single though, now if only she can keep this up. Side Note: She needs to learn to smile, seeing her angry/mopy face is just annoying.
