1. Journey ~Kimi to Futari de~
2. HOLD ON
3. Journey ~Kimi to Futari de~ (Instrumental)
After listening to Journey ~Kimi to Futari de~, it became one of my favorite songs from CK. This lovely R&B infused ballad is just what the doctor ordered. It’s smooth, synth driven, and features incredible vocals. The beats are great, accompanied by the piano chords and synth riffs. The melody and rhythm of this song is so spectacular, and it’s just plain catchy. I also couldn’t get over how amazing her vocals were, they sounded so perfect with the music.
HOLD ON is quite different than the previous song. The one unique thing about this ballad is that it’s sung in English. It is a ballad, a nice one at that. Yet, it sounds a bit darker than her usual stuff. The composition sounds more emotional, yet just as beautiful. At first the song sounds rather dull, but a bit it does get a lot better, more variety as far as music goes. I love the fact that this song sounds positive though, makes me feel a little cheerier just listening to it.
This is the first single since 2009, right before her first compilation album. This single is definitely one of my favorites. I seriously wish she would release more singles like this one. The fact that all the songs were ballads made me love this even more. All of the R&B and synth driven music was just spectacular. The ballads were different yet equally amazing and wonderful. I’m definitely looking forward to her next album, Spin the Music.
