Once you get over the cheap covers you can actually tell that WOO WEEKEND is a decent song. I know, a decent single from BoA, most of the them have been flops. For one this song is up-beat and not annoying. It’s more fluid as far as the music goes, more modern, more infectious. It honestly sounds like a throwback to jazz???? Well more modern, electronic sounding jazz. At this point I can’t find a better way to describe it. Anyway this is her best up-beat, cheery single since……no idea, it’s been that long.
And as awesome as the music of NO DANCE, NO LIFE it’s extremely repetitive. I felt like I was waiting for some climax to lead into an infectious chorus, but I was just left waiting. It sounds nice, but after a while it gets annoying. And to top it off it felt as though BoA’s vocals were being overwhelmed by the music. Not her finest work.
So this is actually a decent single, not her best bust decent. WOO WEEKEND is a breath of fresh air from her past singles, and noticeably better. Yet despite that I don’t think that it’s up to par with her past releases. This single could use some work as far as the B-Side goes, but at least the title track is better than expected. Not her finest work, but it’s a hell of a lot better than that disaster known as…….crap it was so bas that I cannot seriously remember the name. It was so bad that I deleted it from my ipod and music library. If you get this single, do it for the catchy title track!
