KEY OF HEART / DOTCH was BoA’s 21st single. It was released on August 9, 2006 and reached number 7 on the charts with 26,123 copies sold. In all this single has sold over 40,943+ copies. This single was released to celebrate her 5th Anniversary in since her debut. This was the second single in the MADE IN TWENTY(20) Era.

3. KEY OF HEART (English ver.)

KEY OF HEART, can you say celebration. This song is begins with an orchestra and BoA singing la,la,la,la… BoA then goes on to sing the verses. Then the chorus comes. The chorus sounds strong and so overjoyed. It’s not that catchy but it still sounds good. The mood of the song was a happy one, filled with bliss. I think that overall the song could have been a little better.

DOTCH, the R&B oriented song. This song right off the back had a R&B feel, finally no pop. I thought that this song was better than KEY OF HEART. The song is faster paced and is so catchy. The music was perfect and the chorus was great. Again there is some English here and it makes the song even better. The best song of this single for sure.

KEY OF HEART (English ver.) a nostalgic track. I say nostalgic because it follows the trend of her first few singles. Her first few singles had the main version of the song and usually an English version, hence the nostalgic feeling. This version was only avaliable as a first press bonus track. This song uses the same music and everything else, except that this song is sung entirely in English. I can honestly say that I like this version better than the original. The grammar here is actually good, most of her English songs aren’t grammatically correct. Here the chorus sounds beautiful and fantastic. What a great English song.

Overall Review: KEY OF HEART / DOTCH was a great single. A pop song with a flaring R&B track. It was such a great way to celebrate BoA’s 5th Anniversary since her debut. The English version was a great bonus also. It’s too bad that it didn’t do better on the charts, but that’s OK. Still great.
