10. ever free

vogue begins right off the back with an Indian vibe of music to it, well really the instrumentals but they sound Indian. Anyway then Ayumi sings the chorus which is so catchy you can’t help but sing. Not only that it sounds so great with the music. Ayumi basically sings all the verses until the last two chorus which end the song on a great note.

vogue “HΛL’S MIX 2000” the rock arranged remix by HΛL. This song features more rock oriented beats and heavier music. It’s actually one of my favorite remixes on the single which is why I’m reviewing it. You can hear some distortions in Ayumi’s vocals but that’s a good thing. What a fantastic remix.

ever free, the forgotten song. I say forgotten because it was only featured on this single, as it wasn’t present on any album. It begins with some dark music, almost like Hikki’s Devil Inside, but not as much rock and longer. Ayumi doesn’t start singing until about 1:15 in the song, so you have to wait. When the chorus is song is isn’t that catchy but it has a beautiful sound to it along with the orchestra help. After hearing it you might understand why it was forgotten.

Overall Review: vogue was a fantastic single. I loved that whole Indian themed music and it went perfectly with the vocals. Ever free kinda brought the overall score down but the remix of vogue by HΛL brought it back up. Give it a chance.

Final Grade: 97A

  1. […] vogue, Indian oriented song. This was the first song to be released as a single, and thus began the Duty Era. This song is know the best for the first in the trilogy which included vogue, Far away, an SEASONS. The song begins with that Indian style music, hence the description. The chorus seems so short, but it’s so catchy. This is one of the best songs on the album. For vogue’s full review, click here. […]
