Candy feat. Mr. Blistah

Candy feat. Blistah was Koda Kumi’s 25th single, this too was limited to 50,000+ copies. This single was released on January 18, 2006 and reached number 3 on the charts with 37,000+ copies sold. This single went on to sell 47,800+ copies. Candy is Kumi’s 2nd single out of the 12 Singles Collection to have a featured artist. The “dress” for this single comes from Africa, and another little thing, the picture at the bottom looks a little funny.

Review:
Candy feat. Mr. Blistah, right away I can say that this single involves some rapping, from Mr. Blistah. I think you could call this a R&B song. It begins with a flute/reed playing. This song sounds a little middle eastern influenced. It begins immediately with the chorus, which is so catchy and sounds great. Mr. Blistah’s rapping is annoying from time to time, but Kumi’s voice makes it okay. I love the English verses in the song, at a few points during them it sounds like something a gold digger would say, but we all know that’s not Kumi, especially since she was one of the top sellers in Japan both in 06 and 07. The music is fantastic in this song and goes great with the lyrics. Overall this is one of my favorites.

  1. […] Candy feat. Mr. Blistah, a heavy R&B tune with some interesting vocals. This song is very much R&B inspired, that and some middle eastern music too. Blistah’s voice gets somewhat annoying but it’s standable. Kumi’s vocals on the other hand were a lot better, and even her English was good. The chorus was pretty good, and the English parts were so great. This little piece of Candy has been reviewed all ready here. […]
