My Story - PUFFY

Tracks:
1. My Story
2. Twilight Shooting Star
3. All Because Of You (DISCO TWINS Remix)

Review:
Well, My Story might not me as catchy as All Because of You, but it has it’s high points. It’s more rock than anything, not much pop really. The lyrics were nice, all in Japanese. The guitar was the main instrumental force providing some great music. The vocals were great as always but that’s not why I liked this song. It had to be the chorus hands down, besides sounding so aggressive with the music, it was rather lengthy and easy to listen to, well if you like blaring guitars; point is it was good. Only main problem with the song was that it sounded a little repetitive. Blaring guitars everywhere to say the least, it almost got annoying. But, according to Ami “It’s a very straightforward love song. I think this is the very first straightforward song in PUFFY’s history”. So it’s not all bad.

From the drum beats and the smooth guitar playing you can’t help but like Twilight Shooting Star. The instrumentals were pretty great, rock as always. The lyrics were pretty good, sung fast, but good. With the fast tempo song you can’t help but get lost in the music. It was pretty infectious with those cute vocals. Not a bad B-Side.

Now I really got the single because of All Because Of You (DISCO TWINS Remix). This version is longer than the original and it’s more synthed out and dragged out. All the synth beats were nice at times and at others, annoying. It’s a pretty good remix, not bad at all.

Overall Review: My Story was rock powered fun! I loved the overall rock feel of it. I didn’t like how short all the songs were but overall they were enjoyable. I think that the title track could’ve been better but it was tolerable. And the remix was a fantastic bonus! A great follow up to All Because of You.

All Because of You - PUFFY

Tracks:
1. All Because Of You
2. Frontier no Pioneer
3. Closet Full Of Love (RYUKYUDISKO REMIX)

Review:
The first reason why I loved All Because of You was because the fact that it was too catchy. From the the addicting beats and melody I knew I would love this song. The next thing I loved was the fact that it was all in English, no Engrish. It’s was pretty rock to say the least, with great vocals and excellent lyrics. However the best thing part was the addicting chorus, so up-beat and so hard to resist. The only major problem was that it was so short.

Frontier no Pioneer is more laid-back and perhaps more acoustic based than the title track. And instead of English lyrics these lyrics are in Japanese, and it’s a nice change. The vocals seemed monotone at times but otherwise they were good. The song moved pretty smoothly, no abrupt interruptions or surprises. No real climax, just smooth singing that was rather enjoyable.

Perhaps the most energetic song on the entire single is Closet Full Of Love (RYUKYUDISKO REMIX). From the loud and almost yelling “Drawers full of anger” and “Boxes full of highs” I became intrigued by the song. After those loud yet great vocals you hear them ad-lib then sing in English. That’s another reason why I love this song, all English. And the fact that the lyrics were so great made me love the song even more. And the instrumentals were fantastic, rock n’ roll at some points and then tambourines and catchy drum beats. Most of all, the chorus was so so energetic! And so so happy and then so sad at points. But I really loved how at points it was so loud and energetic and then it was normal the next second, it was pretty good.

Overall Review: All Because of You was pure J-Rock fun! Although most of the songs were all English I really enjoyed them so much! It just goes to show you just how talented this duo is. I loved the title track because it was so up-beat and so rock. Now the other tracks were pretty darn good too. One was laid back and so smooth, the other was so energetic and loud! This has got to be one of the greatest singles they’ve released. And considering I got into them via the Teen Titians theme song, they’ve turned out to be a superb duo.
