Review:
It’s been three years since her last single but she comes back strong with the rock empowered Sailing free. At first it sounds peaceful and calming with the strings opening but suddenly the guitars take over and the song pretty much becomes rock from there. And one thing I noticed was just how unique Olivia’s vocals sounded. It might have been because of how high they sounded or maybe it was a minor distortion, either way it sounded incredible. Anyway my favorite part without a doubt was the chorus, but the verse beforehand came close. The chorus was surprisingly catchy, no doubt from the English and the melody. And oddly enough it sounded somewhat epic. And at the same time reminiscent of Anna Tsuchiya
As for Love Love Love, well it’s much different. It’s more of a ballad than anything really. It’s driven by the piano at first than some simple acoustics. Eventually it features the electric guitar and strings during the epic chorus. What makes this song unique though is that it’s in English, every last word. Although it’s not completely impressive and awing, it sure sounds lovely.
The final track is Undress, and it’s actually fairly similar to the title track. Again this song is mostly a rock song, lots of guitar riffs and percussion. The arrangement sounds a little interesting but what makes it stand out are the lyrics, again all in English, no surprise I guess.
Overall Review: Sailing free was a high pitched rockin’ single! I’m not sure what she released last time but I think this is a step up. No surprise that my favorite track is the title track because it’s so different and because it sounds amazing. The high pitched made it stand out and that’s probably why I like it so much. As for the B-Sides, they were so-so really, nothing all that special. I like this single, but mostly for the cover. The cover looks AMAZING, it must be the pink, or the fact it looks like something out of a story book, lots of pretty everywhere. Anyway it’s a nice single.
Final Grade
